Short logic: Groupon IPO: Pass on this deal →
shortlogic: Groupon has filed its S-1 and hopes to raise $750M in its initial public offering. Given they’re currently losing a staggering $117M per quarter, despite revenues of $644M, they’ll be burning through that cash almost as soon as it hits their account. At the moment, it’s costing them $1.43 to… Surprising that Groupon’s marketing costs are so staggering. Personally,...

atebits: An Amazing Ride →
Once upon a time I wanted a better Twitter app for my iPhone, so I wrote one. My goal was to make something simple, beautiful, and intuitive. It’s been a wild ride since 1.0, and over the last year and a half Tweetie has gone from a no-name app from a little known software company to an app hailed… I hope this means good things for tweetie/twitter.app.  If not, so long to my favorite...

Pretty amazing new feature in Photoshop CS5. Having spent some time working with panoramic images or trying to edit out some misplaced post, this tool would be a lifesaver.

Spotlight is my calculator - Neven Mrgan's tumbl →
Just came across this excellent tip from Neven Mrgan.  Spotlight is so accessible that it’s even faster than trying to pull up the calendar(hmm, it’s way faster than the calendar widget, which couldn’t be less helpful for mathematics) calculator widget.

Books in the Age of the iPad — Craig Mod →
Great article.  One small key with books that I think is often overlooked, holding them open.  While I was reading last night, I found holding a small hardcover open was the biggest cause of discomfort.

Waiting on DNS
So, for my first post, I figured I write a quick note on domains and DNS and cpanel.  I’d like to start using the domain I picked up for this new blog, but it seems it takes a little while for it to show up in my registrar’s cpanel.  Or maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.  Hard to say.  Perhaps I should use this valuable time to work on a custom theme.  We’ll see.
